Michelle of Grapevine, TX attended this year’s Angels on the Bluff Tour and she sent some pictures.
The top image is the main gate where the tour started. Every fifteen minutes shuttle busses were delivering tour participants here as well as picking those who had completed the tour.
The middle image portrays the Rev. Joseph Buck Stratton who served as minister of the First Presbyterian Church from 1843 to 1902. During his many years in Natchez, Stratton kept a detailed diary that gives a personal glimpse at daily life in the city during his tenure at the church.
The bottom image portrays S. Quinn Boothe the father of one of the five young girls who died in the 1908 explosion at the Natchez Drug Company. The “Turning Angel” monument is dedicated to the young girls who died in the explosion, which destroyed the entire building. |
