The 2004 Angels on the Bluff tour was a success, the weather was wonderful, the performers, dressed in period costumes, provided an excellent performance and over 2,000 people attended this years tour.
As darkness began to cover the cemetery shuttle busses began to arrive with passengers peering out the windows. As tour goers disembarked they were greeted by guides that assembled groups and began a leisurely walk down pathways illuminated with candles.
For those that missed Angels on the Bluff this year we offer a little history of the individuals that were highlighted.
J. N. Carpenter who was portrayed by his great, great grandson, J.N. Carpenter, IV
Joseph Louis Fermin Cerveau who was portrayed by his great, great granddaughter Jane Millette,
General Zebulon York who was portrayed by Sam Jones.
Count Casimir Dembouski who was portrayed by Rusty Jenkins.
Bishop John Edward Gunn who was portrayed by Father David O’Connor.
Ellen Shields who was portrayed by Patty Killelea.
This year's musical venue featured Idilo, the dancing horse, the musical group “Sons of the Pioneers”, and two of Natchez’s past law enforcers; Chief Mike Ryan and Howard Roy. |
